Saint Timothy's Lutheran Church is a house of prayer for all people. We are a family of believers inspired by God's word, blending tradition and innovation with passionate service to our community.
Greetings to the Friends and Family of St. Timothy’s:
I am Pastor Hal Stoa, serving St. Timothy’s during your transition time.I am not new to most of you because I have been supply teaching (when your pastor was gone on vacation) for over 6 years. Now we have a more intense relationship as I fill the role of your pastor while the Synod works with you to secure your new Shepherd. Please remember to pray for me as I fill this honored position.Together let us pray for discernment concerning the pastoral leader God intends for St. Timothy’s. I need you members to help me know you and thus to better serve you.You can help me a great deal if you remember to give me your name, for that is important to me.I also need you to be faithful in attendance and in sharing your gifts of time, talent and treasure in service to Jesus.Historically, congregations have low attendance and weak giving during transition periods.By God’s help and your partnership, we can continue a strong ministry and in sodoing bring praise to God. A little more about myself:I was born and raised on a North Dakota farm.I am a graduate of Augsburg College and Luther Seminary.I was ordained in 1960 and served as a parish pastor for 21 years. Then I was called intoDevelopment work and served Trinity College (LBI)Seattle, The ELCA Foundation, Lutheran Social Services ofMinnesota, and Lutheran Youth Encounter (YE). I ammarried to a wonderful lady, Virginia by name.We have three sons and a daughter, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.We also have a delightful Red Poodle named Meggi. I believe that God has a great future for this congregation and I know you have competent leaders in place for this transition time. This is Jesus’ church and we will hear His Word, share His Love and serve His Mission. Pastor Hal
